Comprehensive Report
A Free Operation Camp was organized from 7th – 12th February 2011 by General Hospital Pasighat in collaboration with Vivekananda Kendra, Project – Arun Jyoti. The Surgical team from Remote Area Medical Corporation of Knoxville, USA conducted free operations in General Hospital Pasighat covering poor patients of Arunachal Pradesh from the districts – east Siang, West Siang, Upper Siang, Upper Subansiri and Lower Dibang valley. The area of operations mainly concerned to (i) inguinal hernia repairs, (ii) hydrocele, (iii) proven and documented gall stone diseases, (iv) lumps and bumps, (v) abdominal explorations for documented masses, (vi) excision breast lumps, (vii) video-endoscopies etc.

WORLD AIDS DAY AT GH PASIGHAT - 1ST DECEMBER 2010
The World AIDS Day theme for 2010 is 'Universal Access and Human Rights'. World AIDS Day is important for reminding people that HIV has not gone away, and that there are many things still to be done.
According to UNAIDS estimates, there are now 33.3 million people living with HIV, including 2.5 million children. During 2009 some 2.6 million people became newly infected with the virus and an estimated 1.8 million people died from AIDS
