Laparoscopic procedure in GHP started on 12^th Sept 2004 with inaugural operation by visiting Professor, Dr Zaman from AMCH, Dibrugarh. The milestone in surgery was directly transmitted live from the OT to the common masses for the first time.

Pay Cabin is made operational. The shortage of staff was fulfilled by recruiting 3 Nos ANM and 3 Nos Attendants on contract basis by the Hospital management Society wef Sept/2008

Infrastructure developments

The School of Nursing was shifted from the then existent cramped classrooms to separate building with provisions of 2 big lecture halls (ANM & HA students), demonstration room, faculty rooms, office room etc on 1^st July 2003

Operation Theatre and  Labour Room in a separate blocks with all requisite facilities were inaugurated on 30^th Nov 2000 by then-CM Shri Mukut Mithi

Emergency & Trauma Wing constructed under CSS scheme - Pilot Project for Up-gradation & Strengthening of Emergency facilities at General Hospital, started functioning wef 4th Feb 2004

The Public Utility Toilet in GHP, constructed from MLA’s Local Area Development fund started functioning wef 11^th Sept 2006

A Telemedicine Centre was setup under technical guidance of ISRO in 2006 with hardware provider Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and software installer Televital and operation modalities supported by Global Telemedicine Healthcare Network Foundation.

Incomplete two blocks Maternal & Child Health complex at GHP (conceived in 1994 with estimated cost of Rs 1.20 Crore) was ultimately taken up by National Mission on Bamboo Application (NMBA)  in Nov/2005 with combined funding of Rs 69,51,000/- by NMBA (Rs 22,94,000/-) and State Govt (Rs 46,57,000/-). It was inaugurated on 14^th Oct 2006 by Shri Kapil Sibal, Union Minister (Science & Technology)

Administrative Block, previously merged with hospital blocks, shifted to new location during August/2005. All sections are computerized for ready networking & e-governance.

Compound Wall around the Hospital was completed with Special Plan Assistance of Rs 70,16,400.00

Following devastating fire at GHP on 7^th Dec 2006, new constructions of OPD complex & laboratory blocks were undertaken with State Plan Assistance of Rs 80,000,00.00 and inaugurated on 2^nd Feb 2008

Specialty Clinic Homeopathy under Central Assistance from AYUSH for Rs 3,00,000.00 was completed and inaugurated on 8^th Sept 2008 by ex-DHS, Dr H Lodor.

Ayurveda Wing under Central Assistance from AYUSH for Rs 10,00,000.00 was completed and inaugurated by ex-DHS, AP Dr Hage Lodor on 8^th Sept 2008

Maternity Hospital Block, constructed by NRHM funding, was inaugurated by Shri M Mithi, Hon MP on 1^st Sept 2008

A detailed project report for establishment of GNM School of Nursing at HTRC with infrastructural developments (Rs 171600000/-) and other amenities (Rs 2941906/-) amounting to Rs 17,45,86,092.00 is submitted under process through National Rural Healtj Mission.
